Whoa! It's been a decade I haven't put any music review here. Well, sometimes finding good music with good lyrics is kind of hard because most of the songs I listen to have good music but the lyrics are not as good as the music or vice versa. It's just my own perception because people's taste in music is different between one another.

I found this song accidentally and I was in love with the lyrics and the meaning. Okay, the title is Flesh and Blood by an American band from Portland Oregon, US called We Rise the Tides. Not many people know them because they're unsigned to any music labels, that's why only some who know them.

The song itself was released on November 2nd, 2013 from Death Walk that was fully released one year then, in 2014. Yeah, it's almost a decade. The style is symphonic rock/metalcore. I really enjoy listening to it while understanding the meaning behind it.

Here's the review….

The song titled "Flesh and Blood" by We Rise The Tides delves into the profound influence of music and language in providing solace and inspiration to those facing challenges. Its lyrics touch upon past anguish and suffering, while simultaneously offering hope and fostering a sense of shared humanity.

The vocalist vulnerably exposes their own flaws and inner turmoil, but ultimately asserts that our common bond as humans lies within our shared physical existence. The recurring chorus serves as a poignant reminder that despite enduring pain and adversity, there is still poetry and beauty to be discovered amidst the agony.

The song's imagery resonates powerfully by juxtaposing the decay of "bones" with the unwavering emotional strength of the heart. It prominently employs the metaphor of music as a healing force, suggesting that a "melody" has the potential to mend a fractured soul.

Furthermore, the repeated plea to "let these words carry you home" emphasizes the notion that we are never alone in our struggles, and that redemption and healing are always within reach if we are willing to seek them out.

In essence, "Flesh and Blood" is an impactful composition that delves into the human condition and illuminates the capacity of music and language to foster connection and restoration. It serves as a poignant reminder that even during our darkest moments, we are not alone, and that a brighter future filled with hope is always attainable.
